We are pleased to welcome Minister for Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen to Rebild Hills, where he will convey the government’s greetings to the Rebild National Park Society. With his long-standing and distinguished career in Danish politics, we are honored to have him as our keynote speaker.
Lars Løkke Rasmussen was born on May 15, 1964, in Vejle. He graduated with a cand.jur. degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1992. He has been a member of the Danish Parliament since 1994 and has previously served as Prime Minister of Denmark for two terms: from 2009 to 2011 and from 2015 to 2019. He was chairman of Venstre from 2009 to 2019. In December 2022, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Danish government and is a member of the Moderates. As Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen has worked to strengthen Denmark’s international position.
Lars Sandahl Sørensen has a degree in economics and management from Kansai Gaidai University in Japan, Stanford University, and St. Cloud State University in the USA. During his career, he has among other things, been a group director at SAS, a commercial group director at ISS World Services A/S, managing director of the Danish Tourist Board/Visit Denmark, senior consultant at Danish Industry, and a dispatched trade officer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2019, he was appointed managing director of DI – Danish Industry.
Henrik Knudsen is the owner of Memphis Mansion in Randers and the chairman of the Elvis Presley fan club The Official Elvis Presley Fan Club of Denmark. He is a honorary citizen of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Memphis. In 2011, he was named Citizen of the Year in Randers Municipality. On April 16, 2011, he opened Graceland Randers, now Memphis Mansion, which is inspired by Elvis Presley’s estate, Graceland in the USA. Memphis Mansion is located in the southern part of Randers and operates as a restaurant, souvenir shop, event venue, and Elvis museum.
Cecilie Beck Kronborg and Gabriel Gordon have for many years adored their life in the metropolises of New York and Berlin. But city life has now been permanently exchanged for life as islanders on Strynø. Meet the Danish-American couple who have founded ISLA – a retreat for musicians and artists. Gabriel has previously worked with several of the biggest names in the music industry in the USA and started his entire musical career at Jimi Hendrix’s legendary Electric Lady Studios.
The Rebild Foundation aims to support young Danes and Americans who wish to study in either the USA or Denmark. We will meet the young people who are about to embark on their journey and present them with their scholarship. We will also meet one of the young individuals who has been abroad and has just returned to Denmark.
Matilde Alexandra resides in Aalborg. She is known as a host on ANR, where she has had her own morning program and now has her own podcast with Anders Woetmann. She sings like a dream and has performed at private events as well as at the Danish championships in karate. Additionally, Matilde was a significant part of President Obama’s visit to Aalborg in 2019. Matilde will sing the Danish national anthem and lead the sing-alongs.
Tom Bue is a former editor-in-chief with roots at Nordjyske Medier and DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation). He rose to prominence with ANR’s radio satire ‘Skovmand og Bue’.
